Toddler in a personalized embroidered apron baking with mom — a thoughtful gift for parents

Designed for ages 18 months to 3 years

A toddler apron that actually fits a toddler

Most "kids aprons" are scaled-down adult patterns — too long, too stiff, awkward to put on. Ours are cut to a toddler's proportions, so the parent isn't fighting with it on the kitchen floor.

Adjustable neck strap

The strap loosens and tightens with a small slider, so the same apron fits a slim 18-month-old and a sturdy 3-year-old. No tying, no pinching, no parent on their knees adjusting it.

Soft European fabric

Premium European cotton blend — substantial enough to wipe clean, soft enough for small skin. Steamed before sewing, so it won't shrink the first time it lands in the laundry pile.

Toddler-safe details

Reinforced seams, soft adjustable strap, no rough edges. The pocket is sized for a small wooden spoon or a toy ladle. Parents notice these things.

14 colors available

Pick a color that fits the family

Soft pastels for baby showers and shower-of-pinks parties. Deeper tones for second kids, for moms who don't dress their toddlers in pink, for kitchens that already have a palette.

What to embroider

The name is what makes it a gift

An apron from a store is a thing. An apron with the child's name on it is a memory — the parent posts it on Instagram, sends a thank-you photo, keeps it for years. The embroidery is the whole point.

We stitch every piece on our embroidery machines in our studio — no iron-ons, no transfers, no decals. The thread is sewn directly into the fabric, so the name lasts wash after wash.

Embroidery ideas for gift-givers:

  • Just the first name — clean, classic, never wrong. The safest choice if you're not sure
  • The nickname the family usesBug, Bear, Buddy. If you know it, this is the most personal option
  • "Little Chef" or "Sous Chef" — universal, sweet, works when you don't know the child well
  • "Grandma's Helper" / "Papa's Sous Chef" — if the gift is from a grandparent, this puts both of them in it
  • "Future [something] Maker" — Pizza, Cookie, Pancake. Works if the parent already has a thing they cook with the child
  • Initials with a small icon — cupcake, whisk, heart. Quiet and grown-up looking

Make it the gift everyone photographs

Pair it with a matching chef hat

A toddler in a tiny chef hat is the photo every grandparent wants on the fridge. Both pieces are embroidered with the same name, in the same color and font — and arrive together, ready to give.

Beyond names — themed designs

Toddler aprons with embroidered themes

If a name alone isn't quite right, we have themed toddler aprons too — Mini Artist for the budding painter, Mini Beauty for the pretend-salon kid. Same fabric, same studio, just with a themed design embroidered in.

When this gift makes sense

A gift the parent will remember longer than the child will

Most baby and toddler gifts are for the child. This one is for the parent — for the family kitchen, the Sunday baking ritual, the photo on the fridge. The child grows out of it. The memory stays.

Baby showers

Our smallest size starts at 18 months, so the parent puts it away for a year — and then pulls it out the first time their toddler stands on a stool to "help." A gift they'll remember you by long after the registry is forgotten.

First Mother's Day or Father's Day

The first one with a child is the one that matters. A personalized apron with the child's name says this — their kitchen, their kid, their year — without needing a card to explain it.

From grandparents to the family

Embroider Grandma's Helper, Babcia's Sous Chef, Papa's Kitchen — and the gift becomes about both of them. Grandparents who live far away especially love this one.

For aunts, uncles & close friends

You're not the parent, but you know the family well enough to know the kid's name. This is the gift that proves it — more thoughtful than a registry pick, more useful than another stuffed animal.

Second & third birthdays

This is when a toddler apron actually fits and gets used. If you're going to a birthday and want to skip the toy aisle, this is the alternative — used at every family meal, not abandoned by next month.

For families who cook together

If the parent is the type who already lets the kid stand on a stool and stir the pancake batter — they'll get it immediately. Pair with a matching adult apron to make it a set for both of them.

★★★★★
Absolutely love this apron. The color was beautiful and the embroidery was clean. My son is a smaller toddler (just turned 2) and the strap is very adjustable, making the apron flexible in size. I got a matching set too — perfect for cooking together!

Frequently asked

Gift-giving questions, answered

I'm not sure what size to order. What if I get it wrong?

Our toddler size fits roughly 18 months to 3 years, with an adjustable strap that handles the in-between stages. If the child is closer to 4 or older, look at our kids size (3–6 years). When in doubt: size up. Toddlers grow fast, and an apron that's a little big now will fit perfectly in 6 months.

How do I get the spelling of the name right without spoiling the surprise?

This is the most common gift-buyer question we get. A few tactics that work: ask the parent to text you a recent photo of the kid (their name is often in the file caption), check their social media, or ask for the spelling under a pretext — "I want to send a card." If you're stuck, you can also order with a generic phrase like Little Chef or Mommy's Helper and skip the name entirely.

The baby isn't born yet. Can I order in advance?

Yes, this is one of our most common baby shower orders. Order with the name as soon as you know it — we'll embroider and ship right away, and you tuck it away until the gift moment. Embroidery is permanent, so confirm the spelling before ordering.

How long does it take to make and ship?

Each apron is embroidered after you order — we don't keep pre-stitched stock. Most orders ship within 3–5 business days from our Minnesota studio. If you need it for a specific date (birthday, shower, holiday), message us before ordering and we'll confirm the timeline.

Does it come ready to give as a gift?

Each apron is folded and packaged neatly — most gift-givers tell us it looks ready to hand over without rewrapping. If you'd like a gift note included with the package, leave us a message in the order notes at checkout.

Can the embroidery be changed after the order?

The embroidery is permanent — it's stitched directly into the fabric, not a heat-transfer or patch. Double-check spelling at checkout. If something is wrong on our end, we'll remake it for free. If a spelling needs to change after we've stitched, message us within 24 hours of ordering and we'll do our best.

Is the apron machine washable?

Yes — machine washable. The fabric is steamed before sewing so it won't shrink, and the embroidery holds up wash after wash — this is something parents notice and appreciate.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship from Minnesota, USA, with tracking included on every order. If you're sending a gift to a different address than your billing one, just enter the recipient's address at checkout — we'll never include a price or invoice in the package.
